Dyno
**DYNO UPDATE** - SEPT 2011: We removed the dyno from the building to service it, clean it and have it updated with a new, fresh wrinkle black powder coat instead of the old weather blue. We then re-installed it. It came out looking great and really gave a fresh breath of life to the dyno bay and observation room.
On site here at Buschur Racing on top of our full service
facility we also have a Mustang Dyno MD-AWD-500-SE Dynamometer. With
the ability to dyno motorcycles, all wheel, front wheel and rear
wheel drive vehicles. With the capabilities to handle up to 900whp
and up to 150mph speeds we can handle any of your dyno or tuning
needs. This setup also includes a wideband O2 readout for tuning
purposes, a complete control and data acquisition system that lets
you design a wide range of tests and provide both on-screen and
print-out results.
The Buschur Racing Service Department can handle just about anything
that you need taken care of prior to dyno testing/tuning (by appointment
only). PLEASE make sure your car is leak free and is in pristine running
condition before coming for a dyno appointment. Any clean up that is
required after your dyno runs will be subject to a clean up fee. Do not
bring a cobbled mess to be worked out on the dyno, it will not happen.
If your car needs injectors, plugs, wires, boost leak checked or
anything else, schedule having the car fixed first. The dyno is a tuning
apparatus not an install bay. NO repairs will be made on the dyno.
If you do not see a part listed on our website there is probably
a reason for it. We sell parts that work, we sell parts that drive
well, we sell parts that function like they are suppose to. If you
have something not listed on our site ask before you bring it as
David may decline to tune it. The outcome of your tune will be
directly related to the choices you have made while building your
car, David is a very good tuner but a very poor magician.
STOCK ECU TUNING
Tuning your stock ECU with large injectors, alternate map switching, wideband integration, 3 bar map sensor installation, cold start enrichment tables, Tephra mods, speed density mods or any other modification to the ECU is not a quick and easy task. Our dyno tuning on the stock ECU is $375 and that includes tuning your car to the best of the ability of the ROM you come to our shop on. In other words if we do not have the modified XML file for your ROM that integrates all the modifications in it you want done there will be other charges based on the time involved to integrate those modifications into your ROM. This time can vary based on the amount of time it takes to find the modifications requested, if they work once they are found and wiring/switches etc. that may be involved.
FUEL
Buschur Racing recommends that if you are wanting a tune for any fuel other than what is currently in your vehicle at the time of your appointment that you provide your own fuel. We apologize but we do not carry race fuel on hand available for purchase. It is best to bring the fuel with you that you have readily available to you in your location at all times that you're wanting tuned on. We ask that you arrive at Buschur Racing with a minimal amount of fuel in your tank that you are wanting tuned on first. Preferably about an 1/8th of a tank. There will be a $50 fee for us to drain the existing fuel from your tank.
THINGS TO DO BEFORE ARRIVING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
- Boost leak check
- Fresh fuel in the tank
- Fresh fuel in your spare cans if you are being tuned on different octane fuels
- Fresh spark plugs
- Fresh plug wires/boots
- TRIPLE check for any oil or water leaks. If there are ANY leaks the car will NOT be loaded on the dyno and you will pay for your appointment, NO REFUNDS.
- Check your tires, set them to recommend pressures. Cars with bald or overly worn tires will NOT be loaded on the dyno and you will pay for your appointment, NO REFUNDS.
- Install a zip tie or spring to ensure your dipstick is not going to blow out under high boost. If it blows out on the dyno and gets oil on the dyno there will be a MINIMUM $50 clean up fee, this is if we have to clean up ONE drop of oil.
REPAIRS
Any repairs made on the dyno will be charged for, period, end of story. This can range from fixing blown off i/c pipes, oil leaks, boost controller repairs, plugs wires etc. No longer will service work be done on the dyno for the cost of the parts.
Basic common problems and labor rate:
- Plugs/wire change: $30
- Boost leak check: $50
- Installation of boost controller: $50
- Installation of dipstick spring: $20
- Installation of fuel pump: $75
- Installation of double pumper: $150
ALL DYNO PRICES INCLUDE BOOST & AIR FUEL MONITORING
- Base Runs, Self Tuning / Supplied Tuner: $150 / hr. Time will be charged every 15 minutes after the first hour.
- Buschur Racing Dyno Tuning: $300 / hr.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Arrive 15 minutes before
your scheduled appointment. Your appointment starts at the time of the
scheduled appointment, coming early will get your car strapped down and
ready to go. If you arrive late your time starts at the scheduled
time, regardless. If you go to the doctor late you don't get to see
him, consider David the tuning doctor.
