On June 27 and 28, 2005 Buschur Racing participated in the Car and Driver Magazine Superfour Challenge. This event was held at Michigan International Speedway. This event consisted of 2 classes. One class for front wheel drive vehicles only, and the second class was for all-wheel drive and rear wheel drive vehicles. Our class conisisted of a pair of EVO's, two Lotus Elises, one Subaru WRX STi, one Mazda Miata, and a Toyota pickup truck. The Buschur entry had the second cheapest build cost in its class coming in at $52,084, just above the "Flying Miata" Mazda Miata with a price tag of $49,752. The vehicles that took the top three places in the event wore price tags that ranged from $72,654 to $95,183.

Below you will find the exact quotes that were written about the Buschur Racing 2004 Evolution 8 RS, from the editors of Car and Driver Magazine on the driving portion of the test.

"Excellent boost on tap at low rpm. Clutch at first seemed a tad touchy, most likely I was babying it too much. Had no concerns w/it after the first couple of miles. Certainly one of the riot types, livability factor in comparison to a factory EVO is not greatly reduced. Enough power and a turbo sound melody that will surely get you into some serious trouble." – Scott Mosher

"Response is terrific at all rpms. Super strong great, great motor. Compared to some other turbo cars it is way more responsive. Very little lag and it pulls hard at all rpms. Suspension too is surprisingly supple I think it's better than the last EVO I drove in that it doesn't crash over bumps. It's still stiff though, but not uncomfortably harsh and almost makes this a good daily driver. Unfortunately the clutch is an on/off switch and there is no A/C. But I loved jumping on the gas, great fun and a cool little bark to the engine." – Larry Webster "Twin-disc clutch is touchy, even after they adjusted it. But, I did get used to it-just let it out slow. Much more drivable than the HKS, especially parking lot stuff. No uncontrollable banging around like the HKS. Boost comes on quick and strong-a benefit of the smaller stock turbo I guess. The ride may be a bit worse that the HKS but not bad. Quite loud, but sounds good, especially when the sound is reverberating off the cars you're passing." – Dan Vanderwert

"Once you get used to the clutch and holding it @ one position this beast really hauls. Exhaust a bit boomy but not the worst here by a long shot. Instant boost response, corners flatter than a stock EVO but remarkably rides a bit better less impact harshness. New car so it feels tight. Gearbox feels good 2nd gear syncros still in good shape. 20mm wider tires put to good effect. Brakes strong but lack of ABS might hurt it from 140 mph. A very nicely tuned package that doesn't feel like it's about to fall apart. Just what you want in a tuner car. p.s. No A/C EVO RS." – Tony Quiroga

"Linear power delivery, at least as far as tuned EVO's go. Except for the touchy clutch-I didn't stall !- This car was very easy to drive, felt much like the stocker, since it had the stock gearbox, turbo, etc. The ride felt like stock, even w/the 18's. Good brake feel-easy to modulate & heel 'n' toe. The exhaust is loud, but not too loud, and it sounds pretty good. Wastegate is loud, too, but it sound really cool!" – Ron Kiino
